The European Union-funded project Amplifying Leadership of Local Youth in Preventing Violent Extremism in South Asia (ALLY) is hiring an independent consultant to be a Lead Researcher.

The study is led by the Lead Researcher and is conducted in collaboration with 8 Young Researchers (two persons in each of the four countries).

This is home-based work and the researcher is expected to work remotely. The Lead Researcher will have overall responsibility for the research approach, process and findings.

Restless Development is looking for 20 Youth Compact Champions worldwide (Fully-funded)

LOCATION: Home based

STIPEND: Dependent on local context, to cover internet access and travel where safe.

Young people have the power to solve the challenges we face in our world, but they are being side-lined. Restless Development is an agency that works with young people so they can lead in solving those challenges.

Whether that means supporting communities to end child marriage or prevent HIV, they work with young people to change their lives and the lives of people in their communities. Their programmes are genuinely life- changing, but they can’t do any of this without talented, creative individuals at every level of their organization.

The Youth Compact Champions programme is an opportunity for 20 young leaders (aged 18-30) who are tackling the COVID-19 emergency in their communities and /or have experience responding to previous humanitarian crises.

Commonwealth Writers Internship

Commonwealth Writers Internship Program 2020

Applications are invited for the Commonwealth Writers Internship Program 2020 at the Commonwealth Foundation. They are looking for an Intern to work for the dynamic cultural programme, Commonwealth Writers.

Commonwealth Writers is a cultural programme within the Commonwealth Foundation. The Foundation is an international organisation established by Heads of Government in support of the belief that the Commonwealth is as much an association of peoples as it is of governments.

  • Interns will receive £55 per day
  • A travel allowance (commuting to and from the office) to a maximum of £20 per day is available to an intern who lives outside of London. London travel is not covered by the Foundation.
  • As an internship this does not constitute employment with the Foundation. There are no payments for bank holiday, privilege days or sickness. There is a limited holiday allowance.
  • The Intern is included fully in any external training opportunities (including conference attendance) and appropriate internal learning & development programs.

Global Initiative for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (GI-ESCR) Senior Program Officer Opportunity

The Global Initiative for Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (GI-ESCR) is seeking to recruit a committed Senior Program Officer, Human Rights and Public Services, and West Africa Lead.

Under the management of the head of the program on human rights and public services, the Senior Program Officer will assume primary responsibility for planning, developing, and implementing GI-ESCR’s vision and strategic plan in West Africa, and act as a focal point for the organisation for the work in Africa, including in particular the engagement with regional and subregional institutions (ECOWAS, African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights, African Union, etc.).

Salary is between $3,500 USD to $4,500 USD gross per month (including income taxes), depending on level of experience.
