100 Most Influential Africans of 2017

It is the end of another year and the New African Magazine has published its Most Influential Africans of 2017 list. According to the magazine, the list is spread over eight categories: politics and public service; business and finance; civil society and activism; education; science, technology and innovation; media; arts and culture; and sport, profiling continental and Diasporan Africans nominated by peers and industry insiders. This year’s installment features 42 women, a first in the list’s 5-year history. The list has entries from 31 countries with Nigeria topping the nominations with 21 entries followed by South Africa’s 14.
