Global Warming: To Heal the Planet, We Need to Heal the People, First.

Misguided efforts!

It is irrefutably naïve and parochial, to think that we can save the planet, when we can’t even save one another, worse still, can't save ourselves.

As long as it is still endemic to humanity in the 21st century, to inflict pain on one another by ignoring the sacredness of life, we shall not save the planet!

As we strive to leave behind a safe and fine planet for our kids, let most of the striving be to leave behind safe and fine kids for the planet.

As the naïve pundits on climate change were rushing to front their constricted views about the causes and respective remedies for global warming, a one Harvard University-based neurosurgeon, Ann-Christine Duhaime, discovered that, it’s actually man’s flawed desires, that are ripping the planet’s glorious fabric apart.

In other words, by championing campaigns and climate change treaties that are mainly debasing environmentally disastrous human activities, we are merely addressing the symptoms of the matter, not the cause.

Her research suggests that, the brain’s instinctual predilections to crave for things and stimulation, is what is behind the enormous greed for unnecessarily large cars, houses and other potentially harming environmental stuff which have an obvious carbon footprints’ implication.

Hence it’s hard to lessen the manufacture of large machinery and the exploitation of the environment, largely because our souls are trapped in relentless and grand insatiability.

I would posit that, contrary to the prevailing rhetoric that the planet is not fine, it’s the people that are not fine. Therefore, they need remedy first, before we can offer a remedial plan for the planet.

So, my message to the climate change activists, is to redirect their efforts to rehabilitating humanity first, before we can think of rehabilitating the planet.

How they do it is left to them, but, I would only suggest that the climate is going to be remedied only by a holistic approach that is mainly skewed towards re-scheming the minds of the planet’s occupants, so they could expand their mindfulness and consideration, when they plan to engage in potential environmentally disastrous activities.
