The Athletic Wrist Check: 3 Great Fitness Trackers For Sports Enthusiasts

Table of Contents

Keeping track of your physical state and health levels can sometimes be annoying, especially if you don’t have some tracker. The 21st century is all about modernizing the use of technology and making it a part of our lifestyle, so the existence of sports watches meant for fitness shouldn’t be scoffed at.

These are some of the best fitness trackers out on the market today, ranging from choices that cater to professional extreme sports specialists down to amateur Sunday joggers at the park. Whatever choice you make, these are the most sought after and recommended trackers available for purchase today.

Suunto 9

Let’s start this list with a proper contender, the Suunto 9; this watch will probably outlive two or three other trackers on this list combined without having to show low battery health. That’s just one of the notable development goals achieved on this sports watch, but there’s so much more than just the insanely long battery life.

Most sports fanatics will rave about the same thing when asked what they want in a fitness tracker, a longer battery life; and without even giving any room for the competition to catch up, 120 hours of battery life on ultra mode is bestowed by the Finnish company to the Suunto 9. That is extraordinary in every way you look at it, as that feature directly affects all the other functionalities as well.

Along with the amazing battery life, there are a multitude of features included in this Suunto product. Sleep tracking, optical heart monitor, barometer and GPS altimeter, interval training, and so much more are jam-packed into this fitness tracker. Indeed, even the best athletes won’t ask for anything more after they’ve tested this product.

Garmin Venu

A particularly new entry into the Garmin sports watch collection, the Venu aims to elevate the existing athletic support it gives by adding an AMOLED touchscreen, quite fancy. It is a first for the company to include upgraded screens like this. The Venu may be directly competing with the Apple Watch, but it begs to differ with its added features and reliable interface.

Garmin’s software and operating system are pleasingly snappy and appealing to the eye, and with the added extra features for health and fitness, it makes for a great everyday watch. Blood oxygen, heart rate, sleep patterns, and breathing count are some of the monitoring capabilities of the Venu, and the ability to sync statistics with tracking apps is a great way to save your data.

The Venu doesn’t have the insanely long battery life of the Suunto 9, but this is aimed towards the casual to intermediate athletes that don’t need all the bells and whistles of a dedicated sports watch. The features that the Venu has are more than enough for the average consumer’s fitness activities.

Fitbit Versa 2

The new and improved Versa 2 is an upgrade to the Versa, successor of the Ionic, which was Fitbit’s first attempt to enter the fitness tracker industry. Most reviewers have said that the Versa 2 is almost perfect for the price, features, and smartwatch capabilities it has. Let’s take a look at some of the defining reasons why this watch has garnered significant success on the market.

Versa 2 is a great fitness tracker with many health monitoring capabilities, but it won’t be replacing your phone anytime soon. However, the Gorilla Glass 3-protected AMOLED screen and the always-on display option are certainly a welcome addition to the watch's existing perks.

You get all the usual and common trackers, such as heart rate, sleeping pattern, and Alexa's integration into the operating system is excellent for indoor exercise activities. The features you get for that lower price point than most of the competing active wristwatches are eye-candy for budget consumers, and you’ll be glad to know that the Versa 2 is almost always in stock.

Takeaway

Time is the only constant in the world, and with every unhealthy habit we left unchecked, our body deteriorates ever so slightly faster. There has never been a more appropriate time to watch our physical health, especially with the appearance of life-threatening diseases and viruses. You won’t be disappointed when you finally make the change to a healthier lifestyle, and these fitness trackers a great start to that choice!
