1. OPEC Funded Internship Program 2020 for University Students

Applications are open for the OPEC Fund Internship Program 2020. The OPEC Fund offers an Internship Program enabling students from diverse academic backgrounds to experience work with an international organization.
The Internship Program runs for between two and six months and is designed to:
Provide a framework to support students assigned to any OPEC Fund department so that the focus remains on enriching the student’s experience;
Provide an immersive experience so that students gain practical experience of working for an international organization; and
Provide the opportunity for students to understand the OPEC Fund’s vision, mission and related values.
Applicants must be:
- Proficient in English; knowledge of an additional language (e.g. French, Spanish, Arabic) is an asset
- Computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office)
- Keenly interested in the work of the OPEC Fund
- Able to demonstrate cultural awareness
- Able to demonstrate the OPEC Fund’s core values (Integrity, Empowerment, Excellence, Innovation, Community)

3. UNDP Young Environmental Journalists Opportunity

Are you a young person between 18 and 31 years old? Are you interested in producing inspiring stories of change and building a strong network of young journalists and environmental and human rights defenders? Apply for the UNDP Young Environmental Journalists Campaign.
The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket), UNDP, and UN Volunteers (UNV) launch a second round of the ‘Young Environmental Journalists’ campaign, to address environmental and human rights impacts in the mining sector in four resource-rich countries: Colombia, Kenya, Mongolia and Mozambique.
This joint campaign is aimed at empowering young volunteers between the ages of 18-31, to raise awareness about, and have a voice in decisions around management, and use of mineral resources.
Benefits:
The online volunteers who complete the mandatory online courses and participate in all virtual meetings will receive a certificate from UNV, UNDP and the Swedish EPA. They will also receive a certificate from the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
Eligibility:
- Between 18 – 31 years of age, and register with the UNV online volunteering platform
- Fluent in English and at least one of the local languages in Colombia, Kenya, Mongolia or Mozambique
- The process is open to all, regardless of citizenship but demonstrating knowledge about environmental and human rights issues in the targeted four countries will be an asset

4. National Coordinators for the UNEP DTU NDC Action Project in Ghana Opportunity

UNEP DTU is calling for National Coordinators to work in the NDC Action Project in Ghana. The project entitled “NDC Action – Facilitating implementation of climate-resilient and low-carbon development aligned with national and global goals” (“NDC Action”) will be co-implemented in Ghana through year 2023 by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UNEP DTU Partnership (UDP) together with National Technical Institutions (NTIs) that will deliver in-country technical assistance led by UDP.
Eligibility:
- Applicant must have a university degree
- Experience in program development and implementation is an asset
- Experience in climate finance is an asset
- Experience in clean energy and agricultural sectors is an asset
- Excellent skills and experience in stakeholder engagement and facilitation
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
- Professional experience of working with the United Nations projects would be an added advantage
- Ability to work under pressure, with short lead times

5. Google Podcasts Creator Opportunity 2020
Application Deadline: 2 August, 2020
The Google Podcasts Creator Program is a partnership between Google and PRX that trains, mentors, and provides resources to underrepresented voices in podcasting around the world.
Last year, they welcomed early-stage producers from Brazil, Chile, Colombia, India, Kenya, Lebanon, Spain, and the United States.
This year, the program will serve creators from around the globe who have produced at least five episodes of their podcast since January 2019, and who want to advance their skills and take their productions to the next level.
Free to participants, the 12-week training will be entirely virtual and conducted by PRX alongside international industry experts and Google Podcasts creator program alumni.
Participants will receive:
- Regular feedback on all aspects of their production, including editorial and technical input
- Training on topics such as storytelling, sound design, and reaching audiences through marketing and engagement strategies
- Equipment and software to help meet independent production needs amid the challenging circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic
- Up to $12,000 in funding for use as they see fit for their productions
Eligibility:
- Open to podcasters from around the world who:
- Have published at least five episodes of their podcast since January 2019;
- Are willing to pause production during the program;
- Represent a range of geographies, backgrounds, views, voices and styles;

6. World Bank Group Africa Fellowship Opportunity 2020/2021 (Fully-funded)

World Bank Group-Africa Fellows are eligible to spend six months getting hands-on experience at World Bank Group headquarters in Washington D.C. or country offices
Fellows will work on research, economic policy, technical assistance, and lending operations that contribute to the World Bank Group goal of eliminating poverty and increasing shared prosperity.
The WBG Africa Fellows have proven to be valuable resources for their hiring units. They contribute to the work program of their respective units and to the World Bank’s mission.
In the process, they:
- Gain a better understanding of the World Bank Group’s mission and operations
- Access quality data for their research work
- Interact with seasoned experts in the field of development
- Contribute to the World Bank Group’s mission
Eligibility:
- Have an excellent command of English, both written and verbal
- Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills

7. Woodrow Wilson Center Journalists and Public Officials Opportunity
