Sadio Mane is renowned in his home area for giving out football kits for free to children and for also providing families with money.
He also paid for a hospital in the village, and now is he on to buidling a school. Here is a man who never forgets his roots no matter his station and progress in life.
Twitter users were moved by Mane's heartwarming gesture. One user wrote, "Great to see footballers doing great things off the pitch and thinking of others rather than being self-centred."
Another said, "Being humble, remembering your roots costs nothing, you die with with your money or fancy things you buy, but you can change lives easy!"
People simply cannot resist falling in love with Mane's actions towards positive contribution and development in the community he came from.
Sadio Mane was on the verge of helping Senegal win the AFCON title for the first time ever when they lost to Algeria in the final 1-0. It was a tight contest, with Senegal pressing the most, but their efforts were in vain as Algeria triumphed over them.
In a speech read by his uncle Sana Toure at the presentation of his gift, Mane urged locals, "Education is very important. This is what will enable you to have a good career."
In a society where many people are marginalized from education opportunities, what Mane is doing should be really applauded.
