Last Friday, flutterwave, one of the leading paytech company in Africa, announced on their Facebook page a solution that aims to tackle several challenges in the financial landscape, including high transaction costs, limited accessibility to banking services, lack of transparency, security concerns, and exchange rate fluctuations, while ensuring that transactions are simple.
“We are pleased to announce that you can now pay with Flutterwave on IATA’s Financial Gateway. This enables airlines worldwide to process payments from customers in Africa, seamlessly.
Local and international airlines can now accept payments through cards, bank transfers, mobile money, and various other payment methods available on our platform.
We are excited to enable hassle-free travel experiences and support the growth of the airline industry in Africa”.
The product is currently available in Nigeria for UK school fees payments and will soon be rolled out to other African countries in the coming months.
Flutterwave also plans to add more schools in Africa, the UK, US, Canada, France and Germany as it grows access to the product.
