Friday, September 20th, marked the first day of the global climate strike. According to media reports, over 110 countries participated in the strike calling for climate action. The movement is mostly led by young people. The strike lasts up to September 27th with more countries expected to launch their marches in the coming days. The strikes were also held in some African countries as follows.
In Benin, there was a two-day mobilization to challenge policymakers.
This 7-year old climate activist from India traveled to Angola and organized with Angolan youth for their first climate strike.
