New Year is around the corner. It's not only the end of the year but the end of the decade. In a few short days, the 2010s will be history. It is only right, then, that we celebrate having come thus far. New Year's Eve (NYE) parties are a great way to do this. So, how do you throw the perfect NYE party? Here a few simple tips.
Set the theme for the party
Themes are a good starting point for planning a party. Do you want a black-tie event? A colorful, playful costume event? A whimsical event? Choosing a theme will help you decide what items you need to have for the party and what the dress code should be (if at all there should be one).
Make lists
Make a list of everything you need for the party. This will help you to remember what you need to buy when you go shopping for these items. If you already have some of the items, there is no need to buy them; you can cross them off the list. Making a list of all the people you want to invite also helps you to keep track of who you have invited and who you may be forgetting.
Send out invites
Send out your invites early enough to give enough time for your guests to make it to the tour party. Your invites should make it clear what it is, the dress code (if there is one), the theme, and what to bring (if the guests are required to bring something).
Prep
Prep your party items. Decorate your party room and prep food items. Set up the drinks bar. Have everything ready and in position for the party so that things flow smoothly the day of. You can come up with a playlist and even light some candles or set up some lights to create an ambiance.
Enjoy
Enjoy yourself at the NYE party. Don't be afraid to get festive. N.B. NYEs tend to last longer so provide some fun activities to break the monotony. And don't forget to count down to midnight for the new year!
