The representative of Microsoft has already declared that the company will inaugurate the two data centers in the country. At the same time, Werner Vogels, chief technology officer of Amazon, announced that the company would launch Amazon Web Service (AWS), a data center, in Cape Town in 2020.
Arthur Goldstuck, managing director of researchers World Wide Worx, remarked on the eve:
“it was a sheer coincidence, but the presence of the bosses of two biggest cloud computing platforms in the world made South Africa seem like an eligible single being wooed by highly desirable suitors.”
