They asked me,did you fly in the aeroplane?
A few days a go, I sat down with my friends drafting a business trip to Nairobi. We needed to cater for a lot of things,including transportation, business presentation, talks, shelter and food. We had a few days to the trip yet we still had a great deal of work to accomplish. For a very long time, I dreamt of going abroad,places like London, America, and France dazzled me each time I watch movies which have their origin, or see people of the same origin. I'd see myself an influential person as well as a happy one.I always told myself that I deserved a better life, I told myself that I made a mistake trampling on my dreams because I was in love, I thought loving someone and getting love was an ultimate ladder to everything.
I'd hear people say, you shouldn't sacrifice things that you may regret because of a fear thatyou have of losing him or her. Get yourself in front then they can stick on you or look up to you rather than risking to be looked down at in future.
Achieving great things are everyone's ultimate goal, parents as they watch their children grow everyday look multiple of great things like famous defense attorney, surgeons, teachers and many others. As soon as they make enough years to go to school, we see parents struggling to get vacancies from the best available schools ever, looking forward to seeing them get an all round training in preparation to being great people.
I am sure my mother had the same dreams everyday as she walked over ten kilometers to go digging in her garden. Rain and scorching sunshine often hit her,and burned her back respectively but she was more than determined to see me have a brighter future. She needed to send me to school.School is a place no one of average reason has ever doubted as one where everyone can get a brighter future, realise their dreams and work hard to reach them. When I was in school, I discovered a lot of things I was capable of doing and those which I was either not capable of doing or was not interested in doing them.
One among others was that I was good at reading and writing, I knew that right away after spending two years in primary school. My teachers gave me opportunities to explore the library, talk to our library donors which helped me get to know people who later proved that they were ready to help me reach my dreams. Becoming an all round woman,able to give my mother anything she needed in future. I was younger and full of energy, enthusiasm to work through all hard rocks in order to make mother a proud woman.
Over the years, I have tried to realize my dreams, being careful not to repeat my mistakes. I study hard in class and I know my mother must really be proud. But I couldn't see her more proud and happier when I told her I had gone to Nairobi for a week. She did not care about what I had gone to do, all she cared about was wondering,whether I had boarded a plane, I knew she couldn't wait to confirm that her daughter got to fly. It marked the happiest day of my life when I saw her hear from me that I flew like a bird! When my brother heard the news, he said you are damn lucky. You used an aeroplane?!
