Africa's 'Mueller' Report Is Happening Soon

The world has been constantly hit by the possible collusion of US President, Donald Trump with Russia during the 2016 elections. Of course, that's a big deal for many on the continent. Who would dare investigate a sitting president for corruption charges while in office? Imagine having a special investigation having to scrutinize Mugabe's assets, Paul Biya's repressive policies and a host of others. That's a tall dream for now isn't it? However it will happen and it won't be long. 

One basic element in the event leading to the Mueller report is the prevalence of a democracy with institutions that provides for checks and balances. African leaders will have to answer to their actions through uprising if they fail to entrench democratic values that can adequately answer to the yearnings of the masses. 

According to Marx, it is the collective conscience of the masses in the struggle against the political elite will eventually bring victory. However, I strongly believe that collective conscience against injustice will not arise if the masses on the continent do not battle a common enemy. The common enemy theory, which I once postulated involves conditions which alter our common good, displaces our pursuit of peace and happiness. Take for instance, the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria, rise in the price of gas or staple foods in Sudan, power outage in South Africa and so on. Considering the fact that these incidents aren't spontaneous, they are products of corruption and ineptitude, there must be answers.

However, when part of the masses are being pacified with handouts, government jobs and contracts, the masses becomes weakened. Only that the perception that the people are subjects to whims and caprices by Africa's political class will weaken by the forces of education and by the hypodermic effect of the social media. 

As it stands, I can not authoritatively confirm if there's one head of government in Africa who can confidently allow an independent investigation into affairs of government while still in government. They will resort as always, to suppress opposition. Their era will soon elapse. The people must be aware that the lion, though may be the king of the jungle, it is in fact, not greater than the jungle. If all other animals set the jungle on fire, the lion will be on the run. 

If African leaders do not want to have a 'Mueller' check, they can expect a Bouazizi revolution check, a Gaddafi brutal check or such ouster of inglorious dimensions.
