Sonya Beard

Sonya Beard is an American journalist, who has worked in newspapers, magazines, book publishing and public relations. Most recently, she served as the editorial coordinator for a North Korean NGO. She was a writing instructor at a university in South Korea, where she freelanced as an expat correspondent for The Korea Times, a writer for Seoul magazine and a contributor for Women's Wear Daily. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in Teaching English Through Literature from the University of Alcala in Madrid, Spain. She is based in New York City.
