FOUR African music acts have been nominated for the Grammy Awards 2019 in the Best World Music Album category.
The nominees include the Soweto Gospel Choir (South Africa), Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 (Nigeria), Fatoumata Diawara (Mali) and Bombino (Niger).
The nomination was announced on Friday in Los Angeles with the awards ceremony pencilled for February 10, 2019.
Soweto Gospel Choir has won the Grammy’s Traditional World Music Album in 2007 and 2008.
It is now the third nomination for Soweto Gospel Choir following two in 2009 and 2011 respectively.
