Success is sweet, and for a Twitter user who has been identified as Yannick Leyka, this is clearly evident. He has endeared social media after he shared his story of fulfilling a childhood dream to his mother.
His story is the epitome of what hard work and sheer determination yield into. When Leyka was only 5, he already set for himself the trajectory he wanted to follow in life, and was keen on achieving this - he wanted to become a doctor. And there is one more thing that even fuelled this determination to come to fruition - he made a promise to his mother at that stage that he was going to be a doctor.
Fast-forward 22 years later, he is now a doctor, and has fulfilled his childhood dream and his promise to his mother. At 27, he has graduated from Wits University.
His Twitter account, @yann_leyka, has details of his journey and how his dreams finally came to life. "When I was 5 years old I promised my mom I would become a doctor, 22 years later promise fulfilled."

He earlier on had tweeted, "I got to my room and started crying. I can’t believe it, this is actually happening. I graduated today. I am whole doctor, like an entire medical doctor! Like a doctor doctor. Like when someone says we need a doctor, it’s me .😭"
"It took me 9 years to get here. 3 years of BSc, financially excluded twice. Spent 2 years working 3 jobs to raise tuition money then 4 years of medicine. I slept hungry in the 24hour library but today I walked that stage again as Dr Leyka.
Black child, your dreams are valid."
Congratulations are in order!
