Going by the reports of Saudi state media, the Gabonese President Ali Bongo has been hospitalized in Riyadh - the capital and most populous city of Saudi Arabia. They did not disclose any further details concerning the president's health.
The president had been in Riyadh since early this week, where he was billed to attend the Flagship Future Investment Forum but surprising was absent from the event despite the fact that he was supposed to speak on a panel.
The organizers of the event did not also give ant reason for his absence.
The media aide of the president however downplayed concerns over the president's health saying, Bongo was only tired and there was noting serious to worry about.
The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Bin Salman has paid a courtesy visit to Bongo at the Riyadh's King Faisal Hospital, a visit which he said was to "inquire after the health of the president", according to the official Saudi Press Agency.
Ali Bongo Ondimba has been President of Gabon since October 2009. He took office after the death of his father, Omar Bongo, who was President of Gabon from 1967 until his death in 2009.
