Award-winning airline Ethiopian Airways continues to break more ground as it announced that it will be inaugurating its first all-female crew flight to Nigeria.
The crew will include females only, from pilots and cabin crew to in flight ramp operations as well as flight dispatchers on the ground. It is a ground-breaking, positive and commendable move undertaken to support the role of women in aviation and to furnish women with more opportunities.
About one-third of employees at the airline is female, but the number gets smaller when it comes to pilots and technicians. The flight is expected to leave for Lagos from Addis Ababa on the 16th of December with some selected Nigerian journalists on board.
Capt. Amsale Gualu was quoted by the airline saying, "This flight shows us that if women get equal opportunities and work hard, I'm sure they can achieve whatever they want in all fields including the aviation industry."
At the thrust of this noble and bold initiative is a strong zeal and desire to urge more and more women to pursue careers in the aviation industry and to promote the empowerment of women. The airline has been registering an average growth of 25% over the last seven years and with the wide inclusion of women, it is set to scale new heights and endear many.
Ethiopian Airlines regularly scoops awards at top aviation awards and it shows how much successful they are, and their keeping up with modern trends.
