When it comes to social media, people will do anything for likes.
And it seems a ‘like’ holds so much weight than just someone'sdopinion. People are going as far as endangering their children and loved ones lives to get Facebook likes.
One such example is a man who held a baby out of a 15th floor window in order to gain likes on Facebook.
The man dangled out the baby out of a window in an apartment block in Algiers, Algeria, with a single hand gripping the back of his t-shirt.
“1000 likes or I will drop him,” the man captioned on the picture.
He received backlash from Facebook users who called for his arrest on charges of child abuse.
He was arrested and charged, getting 2 years in prison.
However, he has denied putting the baby’s life in danger and claimed that the photos were altered by other Facebook users.
In a twist of events, the child’s father called upon the court to forgive the man, arguing that he had simply been playing a game.
The judge however, ruled that the man was guilty as he had put the child’s life in grave danger.
In 2002, the then king of pop Michael Jackson dangled his son, Prince Michael II, over a hotel in Berlin Germany, in front of fans and photographers. He later apologized for his stunt which he termed a terrible mistake.
