Kenya’s Gor Mahia will play Premier League’s Everton in a pre-season game in Tanzania after they were crowned winners of SportPesa Super Cup.
Gor Mahia won the right to face the English side after thrashing AFC Leopards 3-0, another Kenyan bitter rival in the cup final.
Blues ambassador and former midfielder, Graham Stuart, presented the trophy to Gor Mahia’s captain, Haron Shakava, after the final on Sunday. Goals from Timothy Otieno, Oliver Maloba and John Ndirangu ensured the win for K’Ogelo.
The July 13th fixture against Ronald Koeman and his team will be played at the 60,000-capacity Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The Kenyan side based in Nairobi, are the country’s most successful club, having won the Kenya Premier League a record 15 times.
