Sirikoi Lodge located in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Kenya, beat out 10,000 other hotels to emerge the best resort in the world. This is according to results from the 32nd Annual Reader's Choice Awards survey by luxury and lifestyle travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller where 600,000 registered voters weighed in on their favorite resorts in the world.
The lodge is one of the five Kenyan resorts that made it to the top 50 list. Others include: Richard’s River Camp in Masai Mara (ranked 6th), Elewana’s Elsa’s Kopje in Meru National Park (ranked 11th), Ol Jogi Home (ranked 17th) and Elewana Elephant Pepper Camp in Masai Mara which (ranked 30th).
Sirikoi has previously ranked as Africa’s Leading Luxury Lodge in World Travel Awards and won the Eco-lodge of the year award in 2015. It has a main lodge, a three-bedroom house, and two- and four-bedroom tents facing a watering hole for great wildlife views. There is also an organic garden from where they harvest their food. Activities include morning and evening game drives, bush walks with a ranger, horseback riding across the plains, flying to Mt. Kenya in a helicopter to go fly fishing and doing a quad bike safari for an overnight campout.
