The English Premier League is the most-watched and loved league in the world. The competition brings together players from different parts of the world and is the most fiercely competitive league in the world.
While there are several countries that develop great footballers, Nigeria has contributed its fair share to the Premier League. The players who have made a name for themselves in the EPL have also made the league famous in Nigeria. Here are five players who have incredible achievements and have won the league:
#1 Nwankwo Kanu
Starting a glittering footballing career at Iwuanyanwu Nationale, Kanu has played for Ajax, Inter Milan, Arsenal, West Bromwich Albion, and Portsmouth. It was at Arsenal that the Nigerian star got his EPL trophy not once but twice.
Kanu joined Arsenal in 1999 and showed an immediate impact on the team, scoring 17 times in 50 games for the Gunners. He won the EPL trophy in 2001-02 and 2003-04. The 2003-04 season was a memorable one, as Arsenal remained undefeated in the entire season. He had an outstanding 119 appearances for the English side and fans regard him as one of the greatest players the club had.

#2 Victor Moses
Victor Moses started his senior career at Crystal Palace, which was also his youth club. He then moved to Wigan Athletic and later joined Chelsea in 2012. Moses has also played on loan for Liverpool, Stoke City, West Ham United, and Fenerbahçe.
Moses played as a winger for Chelsea. Defenders considered him a dangerous flank player because of his pace and ball control. He had 87 appearances for the English side in which he scored seven goals. His contributions as a playmaker were much greater than scoring goals for his side. Moses won the EPL trophy with Chelsea in the year 2016-17.
#3 John Obi Mikel
John Obi Mikel plays as a midfielder specifically, in the defensive midfield. He has played for various clubs in his career, starting his journey at Lyn. He then moved to play for Chelsea, where he spent most of his career. Mikel then joined the likes of Tianjin TEDA, Middlesbrough and Trabzonspor.
Mikel is one of the most successful Nigerian players in the world. He is a world-class player and was in his prime when he played for Chelsea. He won two Premier League titles with Chelsea, his first title came in the year 2009–10 and the English side won the second title in 2014–15.
Mikel played from 2006 to 2017 for Chelsea and appeared in 249 matches for the side.
