It is obvious that our recent and shot exposé published about the rogue Amara Konneh sent a shock wave in the spine of the cunny social hustler. Thus, he chose to respond to us through his funny looking poodle of a Joseph Vallai. But we will deal with the former and leave the latter who is nothing more than a nonentity and a clueless vagabond who survives on the crumbs thrown to him by his crooked master. In one sense, we could have chosen to ignore such rubbish purveyed by the tribal bigot and isolate our minds from the insults he threw at not only our person but also the venerated character Dr. H. Boima Fahnbulleh, Jr. But we have elected to deal with the inanities spewed by this lousy tribalist for it is our duty to prevent the shifting of the opinions of our people by conmen and rogues who justify their spivery by the marketing of concocted lies and homespun logic.
It is an undisputable fact that George Weah is an appetitive brat who has no sense of history and the ideas to transform society but a mafia don who has long aimed for another opportunity to wallow in the splendor of wealth after blowing off the money he made from playing football in Europe. The fact that the charlatan is out of his depth and league as a resident of Liberia cannot also be overly accentuated. It cannot be overemphasized that Weah has scoundrels like Samuel Tweh, Nathaniel McGill, Jefferson Koijee, etc. who think that after the captured of state power, gentrification and lavishing in opulence to present themselves as the new elites should be the obsession rather than devoting the task of governance to the ushering in of an agenda that fires the imagination of the people and places their destiny in their own hands. But to treat the current malady in Liberia as the sole creation of the people at the helm of power is to confuse the masses of the population and blur the role of the indecent social forces that orchestrated the imposition of this tragic farce. It is also to reduce the tragedy to simplistic absolutes which glosses over the role of those who in their quest to maintain their dominance in all facets of the state manipulated the system to impose the gang of misfits. The tendency to think that George M. Weah is so evil and that in an effort to rectify the anomaly, we must collaborate even with the forces who created the condition for the emergence of these black fascists is flawed from beginning to end.
A CDC led government is the handiwork of elements like Amara Konneh and his criminal boss Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. They were aware that Weah and his handlers have no vision and ideas for the building of a modern state that places high premium on increasing the capacity of the people to win a living from nature and contribute to other aspects of social development. These people were aware that the CDC elements come from the most degenerate layers of the society and had been subjected to long years of servitude and drudgery, and thus do not have the sophistication to make reality the objective and ideas of social transformation but are rather fixated on metamorphosing into the new brand of social elites that plunders the crumbs thrown into government’s revenue by those who own and control the Liberian economy.
In fact, people in the rank and file of the CDC are victims of the long years of exploiting the labor and resources of our country and they do not have the slightest thought of the principal contradictions of the Liberian society and the methods to resolve same – a condition made necessary by the reactionary neo-liberal economic agenda that Amara Konneh and his likes who were trained by the Bretton Woods Institution not only parrot as the best development model for third world countries but also caricature and discredit any radical alternative to such exploitative system imposed on third world people by the Washington Consensus. It is equally important to say this system they so praise as that which will deliver social progress, alleviate poverty and transform society has so miserably failed to the extent that the whole world is in turmoil as a result of the consequences of the Bretton Woods model which was firstly initiated by the Chicago boys in Chile in the 1970s after the slaughtering of President Salvador Allende. And would later be taken by the World Bank and its sibling of the International Monetary Funds as the one-fit-in-all development model for all third world countries.
Amara Konneh and his accomplices did not care about the repercussions of foisting the calamity in the CDC on the country. They did not care that after installing Manneh, he would negate devoting his efforts to advancing the material welfare of the people but choose to prioritize the accumulation of wealth at the expense of the taxes and resources of the country. They did not care that the CDC elements who grew up in environments with no culture of discipline would have initiated Liberia’s version of the “California Gold Rush” while the mass of the people rot in ruins and tatters. That the CDC would have derailed the tenets of our democracy which were achieved on the backs of the struggle and sacrifice of our people was not the concern of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and her cabal of thieves which Amara Konneh is the trashiest representative of.
That the CDC would have degenerated the republic into black fascism where repression of voices of dissent and the widening division of the country on the lines of sectarianism would have been the rule rather than the exception did not bother the consciences of the economic pirates in Ellen, Amara, Rob, etc. The imposition of this tragic farce was a necessity for the opportunists insofar Weah and his people had committed themselves to not only keeping the features of neo-liberal capitalism in place and thus protecting the surplus profits of foreign capital but also ensuring that Ellen, Amara, Rob Sirleaf, etc. wander Monrovia with impunity after years of looting the taxes and resources of the people.
Amara Konneh is a silicon rascal of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and he is on record for being recommended for dismissal and subsequent prosecution by the Nebaglee Warner led committee which was set up by Madam Sirleaf to investigate a shady carbon concession agreement between the Carbon Harvesting Corporation (CHC) and the Forestry Development Authority (FDA). The committee had unearthed the involvement of crooked Amara Konneh in the bogus deal that deprived our people the needed revenue and lined the pockets of few parasites led by a Konneh. The hypocrisy of the fight against corruption was exposed when the recommendations of the Warner’s Committee were ignored by the Machiavellian Ellen Johnson Sirleaf who later promoted the chief culprit to the position of Minister of Finance and Development Planning.
At the Ministry of Finance, Amara is on record for siphoning US$13million of EU’s direct budgetary support to the country’s fight against maternal mortality and morbidity in 2013. Konneh could not account to the Senate Health Committee how the fund was expanded. Dr. Walter Gwenigalee, the then Minister of Health vehemently refuted Amara’s claim that the money was deposited in the account of the Ministry. Hospitals that Konneh claimed received the money to fight the scourge of maternal mortality debunked his assertion. To date, the usage of the fund remains a misery as Liberia is one of the highest ranked for maternal mortality. For Konneh and his likes, it is an entertainment to deprive our mothers of decent healthcare. For people of his kind, subjecting our people to death while giving birth is a child’s play. This is such a ridiculous scoundrel whom we must never hesitate to expose.
This man participated in the vast looting of our country with no remorse and think we can now begin to use the stolen wealth to grab political power. If it is not mandating the riffraff James Kollie to dish out to his cronies the Private Sector Development Initiative Fund (PSDI) meant to strengthen struggling small and medium enterprises in the economy, he is somewhere else receiving thousands of dollars in bribe from NOCAL for a bogus Oil Block 13 deal between Exxon and the Government of Liberia – a financial scandal which was exposed by Global Witness in 2018. If it is not collaborating with Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to grant tax holiday bonanza to multinationals in the extractive and tourism sectors in exchange for shares – a situation which has contributed to the shape decline in government’s revenue – then the rogue element is being held liable for mismanaging the fiscal affairs of the country , thus leading to consistent budget shortfalls from 2013 – 2017 that did not affect his lucrative salary and benefits but rather a macroeconomic phenomenon that led to the creation of black hole in the delivery of social services to our people.
This is the background from which one must understand why Amara Konneh was one of the chief architects of the caravan of spivs that solidified the unholy political marriage between the Ellen’s cabal and the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) during the 2017 Presidential Election at the expense of the ruling party’s candidate Joseph Nyumah Boikai- a decent patriot who refused to bow in submission to the demands of Ellen and her gang of thieves. The National Security Agency’s budget line which is not subject to audit was used to funnel funds to not only the campaign of the CDC but also to bribe gullible politicians like Prince Johnson in exchange of support to candidate Weah in the second round of the Presidential election. The flawed final voter roll was a deliberate scheme to favor the CDC’s candidate. Excess ballot papers were printed in Accra, Ghana by Amara Konneh and Robert Sirleaf to inflate the votes of the CDC especially in the very hard to reach South Eastern region of the country.
The fraudulent election of 2017 was further exposed by the dissenting opinion of Associate Justice Kabinah Ja’neh in the final ruling of the case between the Liberty Party and the National Elections Commission – the single reason for which the CDC led government is now orchestrating an unconstitutional removal ploy against the learned Associate Justice who unlike his colleagues refused to be bribed by Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. After one year of the dubious imposition of Weah on the country, the contradictions are compounding. The economic backwardness keeps widening. The parasites in the state bureaucracy are on a wealth accumulation spree while the people remain the wretched of the earth. Obviously, it did not require more than a year for the farce to have exposed its nakedness. Thus, there is a growing anger, discontent and hatred among the people and sooner than later, there will be a revolutionary upsurge of the people where their involvement will reach at a celestial height and pave the way for the crumbling of the regime.
It is this mood in the society that Amara Konneh - who has in his possession stolen wealth that he thinks can guarantee him a space in the politics of the republic – has seen and chosen to use distorted analysis on social media as a way of not cleaning himself up as an alternative after playing a key role in the creation of the current Liberian tragedy. He thinks that the degeneracy of every sector by the elements in power gives him the opportunity to do everything to be seen as the hero who can salvage the state. Amara and his likes deluded themselves that they are too smart and others cannot see through their lies and deception. They have that false impression that the Liberian people will keep being used as expandable cannon fodders by their cabal of conmen and rogues. But the stage is already set to sterilize the treacheries of these gangsters. Out of this order will spout a revolutionary era that will ensure that this clique of looters be brought before the judgment seat of history.
