Life is a continuous process of rising and falling. Every great person you look up to today has had a time they failed, has had a time when they thought of giving up. In fact, even at the peak of success in any sphere of life, failure is always lingering and inevitable. I will not tell lies and say if you follow these steps you will never fail, but I will tell you the truth that failure will come but your response to that failure is what will determine your success. Successful people fail too, but they have grown enough not to waste time holding a pity party and mourning over their failure but quickly pick themselves up, dust themselves and try again.
It should be noted that the more progress you make, the bigger the stakes when you fail. Therefore, as time goes by you learn not to base your decision making on fear, you set your goals, aim and fire. If you hit the target you win, if you miss you assess where you went wrong then aim and try again. the best and most effective remedy to failure is to try again, after that last fail, try one more time, if it doesn’t work, try again until it works and you become an expert at it. Failure is a good friend of success, if you have never experienced failure, you will never appreciate success.
Having a model is another way of learning from failure without necessarily going through it yourself. Having a mentor will help you avoid certain pitfalls by learning from your model’s failures. From some people you learn what to do, from some you learn what not to do; in both cases you are learning. Life is about being tactful, as an individual time is so limited to go through everything, somethings we learn from other people’s experiences.
What you do after you fail can have a much deeper and longer effect on you, career or business than the failing itself. Have good diagnostic tools, but most all; always have strong feet to stand on again. Mike Tyson put it perfectly by saying; “everyone has a strategy until they are punched in the face”. The strong are known for their ability to rise from setbacks. Failure is necessary, until you fail over the same reason more than twice; in that case, it is not acceptable.
