For all our rich resources, Africa’s greatest ‘export’ has thus far been our ‘Single Story.’ It is a narrative of violence, corruption and poverty. However, we know a different narrative: one of empathy, resilience and pride. Therefore, the onus is ours, as Africans, to change the Single Story. We must become the strongest voices of praise, but also the most discerning voices of critique. This blog is a platform to share a new narrative of Africa.
Why are the relationships between Africans and African Americans so strained?
The inability to speak our mother tongue runs deeper than shyness or fear. It is a widespread and systemic problem amongst my generation. It is the product of colonised minds.
